A spectacular ninth round by the USA team has put them "in the hunt" for the final rounds. Read the coverage on Alexandra Kosteniuk's site: Istanbul Chess Olympiad Round 9: China, Russia, Armenia, USA in Joint Lead in Open Section

After nine rounds, China, Russia, Armenia and the USA are in joint lead in the open section with 15 points each. Ukraine, the Netherlands and Argentina are joint second with 14 points each.
